​​The job of a housekeeper covers a multitude of responsibilities, we will teach you to develop your skills, to control your working time, to plan your tasks but also to work in an organised way and to know how to react in all unexpected situations with future employers.

Training Description

We will allow you to create a community to share your experiences and exchange with other students and alumni. We will also provide you with all the necessary support throughout your training.
In order for the quality of your work to be recognised and appreciated in your future career, we ensure that you are taught the best gestures and above all that you acquire the know-how and interpersonal skills required for the profession of housekeeper/maid, also known as chambermaid or luxury cleaning lady.
Our training method is based on our experience, interactivity, sharing and conviviality.
The Morgan Mallet School Housekeeper Training is a curriculum designed to help candidates learn how to effectively manage their future life as a housekeeper in a luxury property. It is a comprehensive programme that covers many aspects of managing the upkeep of a property, chateau, villa, chalet, mansion or grand flat.
The housekeeper training starts with an assessment of the future housekeeper’s current situation with our training officer. This includes an assessment of the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as communication and problem-solving skills. During this assessment, the candidate and the trainer will also discuss their goals and motivations. This is an important step in the process as it allows the candidate and our trainers to identify the skill areas to be acquired and to create a suitable training plan.
The next step in the Domestic Helper training process is to create the application form (training agreement) and funding for the training. Our training officer will accompany you during this step. See details below.
The third step of the process is the training course which consists of helping and accompanying the future domestic worker to develop skills during the 10 and a half days with two Morgan Mallet School trainers. See programme below.
Finally, the housekeeper training process ends with a review of the student’s progress. During this phase, the future housekeeper will discuss the successes and achievements they have made since the beginning of the training. This is the perfect time to celebrate the student’s achievements.

Morgan & Mallet School is the Leading French 5 star Housekeeper Training to develop your career and working for HNW and UHNW families.

Course and content of the training

  • 10 days over 2 consecutive weeks 
  • Arrival on Monday
  • Training from Tuesday to Saturday
  • Sunday off
  • Training from Monday to Friday
  • Students leave on Saturday
Students are accommodated in the villa for the duration of the training
1/2 day preparation for the recruitment interview/presentation of the vacancies (8 days after the training) 90 hours of training in total

  4. Training module for brass and silverware care – Hand cleaning of fragile dishes (crystal, porcelain…) 
  5. Training module knowledge of organic cleaning techniques 
  6. Training module on managing external service providers
  7. Training module on floral decoration and plant care
  8. Training module on knowledge of maintenance equipment
  9. Training module for managing a dressing room 
  10. Hygiene training module 
  11. Training module for table setting and service
  12. Training module managing the budget, replenishment and storage of products 
  13. Training module handling pets
  14. Training module for domestic staff’s skills and know-how
  15. Training module on cooking, meal preparation and food shopping
  16. Training module on property security and guarding
  17. Childcare training module
  18.  Training module on communication techniques with the employer
  19. Regular MCQ tests
  20. Exercises and role plays 
  21. Organising an informal lunch situation (service and table setting)
  22. Organising a formal dinner in a situation (service and table setting)
  23. Graduation and photo session

Pre-requisites for the training

You can pay for the entire course by bank transfer only, our team will provide you with our bank details. Immediate payment before the course is required. (30% deposit at the time of booking and 70% of the total payment one week before the start of the course).

Rate

The fee includes :

  • 10 days of face-to-face training from 9am to 5pm from Tuesday to Saturday the first week and from Monday to Friday the second week
  • 1/2 day of training on writing a quality CV and a job interview simulation/coaching session with a Morgan & Mallet International recruitment officer to prepare you for your future applications and job searches 
  • Session with a maximum of 5 students 
  • Two trainers at your disposal
  • A training officer to assist you from A to Z in putting together your training file (financing, training agreement, delivery of training certificate, diploma, post-training follow-up, etc.)
  • Free accommodation in the Villa Noumade during the course (private room + bathroom) – sheets and bathroom linen included (for people living in the Bordeaux area, accommodation on site is not compulsory)
  • Food offered (breakfast and lunch only during the course and on Sunday (day of rest) all meals are your responsibility) – please indicate if you have any food intolerances or allergies prior to your arrival 
  • A welcome drink (petit fours and soft drinks) with all students and trainers 
  • Two Morgan Mallet School uniforms
  • Delivery of the training booklet with the complete training programme, courses, exercises, MCQs, results of checks and tests
  • The Morgan Mallet School diploma and certificate
  • Free airport or train station transfer for your arrival and departure from Bordeaux if needed
  • One car or motorbike parking space inside (secure parking)
  • Several proposed activities on Sundays during your day off 
  • A follow-up of your professional career after the training with Mrs Anne Brisson, training officer
  • Authorisation to use the “Label Morgan Mallet Approved” logo on your future profile

The price of the luxury housekeeping training course is 2,990 euros excluding VAT.​

The employment market for domestic workers

The employment market for domestic workers is doing very well as there is a very high demand in Europe.

Salary and conditions in 2023 (Morgan & Mallet International statistics)
  • 3,000 euros net per month at the end of the career (full-time) + company accommodation offered in certain cases
  • Some employers provide a company car
  • There may be certain benefits for the larger firms: 13th month, various bonuses, performance bonus, food included, health insurance
  • 90% permanent position for registered vacancies
  • Places and areas with the highest number of job offers: UK, USA, Europe and Middle East
